Kirschnick : A New Art Nouveau
"You do realize you are creating a New Art Nouveau?" April 14, 2022, In the studio of artist K. she is calmly watching me create "Goldmarie", my first lifesize sculpture: a modern girl, a new kind of angel wearing jeans, a belly button top and long boots at the front, and an angelic gown at the back. At the front, her wings seem to grow organically from her arms, lizard-like, as if she could fly away any time. At the back Goldmarie reveals she really is a classical angel, too, wearing a dress with flowing lines. Her wings resemble leaves, and hidden in the train of her dress Goldmarie casually carrys along a few gold coins. I had always loved Gustav Klimt, and suddenly it dawned on me, that a hundred years after Art Nouveau, my sculptures are evolving into a New Art Nouveau.

Die Erfindung des Neuen Jugendstils: "Goldmarie" - 04/2022

„Ist dir klar, dass du gerade einen neuen Jugendstil erfindest?“ 14. April 2022,, im Atelier einer befreundeten Künstlerin. Sie sieht mir zu, wie ich „Goldmarie“ in Ton modelliere - meine erste lebensgroße Skulptur: ein modernes Mädchen, eine Art Engel in Jeans, Bachnabel-freiem Top und Cowboy-Stiefeln an der Vorderseite und einem engelhaften Kleid an der Rückseite. Mädchen und Frauen sollten jederzeit bereit sein, wegzufliegen, wenn ihnen etwas nicht passt. Und deshalb hat Goldmarie vorne echsenhafte Flügel, die organisch aus ihren Armen herauswachsen. An der Rückseite trägt sie ein klassisches Kleid mit fließenden Linien, und ihre Flügel ähneln geschwungenen Blättern. In ihrer Schleppe sind für Goldmarie ein paar Goldmünzen versteckt - denn Goldmarie soll sich nicht verausgaben bei der Arbeit: Ein Apfel reicht, als Wegzehrung.
Die Goldmünzen hätten Gustav Klimt gefallen, und auf einmal spüre ich: Dies ist es, was ich will: Ich rufe den neuen Jugendstil aus! Einen Jugendstil mit Seelenkraft, Freiheit und Autonomie für alle Liebenden.
Im Märchen ist Goldmarie unermüdlich, sie sammelt alle Äpfel auf, sie holt das Brot aus dem Ofen, sie putzt ohne Unterlass und schüttelt im Dienst von Frau Holle die Betten aus, sodass es auf der Erde schneit. Für ihre guten Dienste wird sie mit Gold überschüttet. Arbeit bis zur Verausgabung und reicher Lohn als Ideal? "Pregnant Woman" (2022-2024)
"Die Schwangere" gehört zur Trilogie "Mutterschaft - Geburt, Leben. Tod". Der erste Entwurf wurde am 6.-7.8.2022 live auf der Kunstausstellung KleinMontmatre, Xanten, modelliert. Modell: Kathrin von Düren. Diese Figur ist noch in Arbeit.
New Work December 2023-July 2024
Kirschnick is currently working on various New Art Nouveau sculptures about love & death. Destroying sculptures without taking moulds is part of her creative energy, only the best ones will survive and will be presented to the public in the upcoming months.

Love - Turning Point: Eternity / Grief
Once you turn Kirschnicks Sculpture "Flying towards him" 90 degrees, a new sculpture evolves: "Standing up for each other". Another 90 degrees, and a third sculpture evolves: "Turning Point: Love and Death - Eternity." This is a truly amazing draft; three new sculptures will be presented here in spring 2024.

Work in Progress
Derzeit entstehen weitere Skulpturen, u.a. zum Thema Mann und Liebe ("A Man´s World") sowie diverse Skulpturen zum Miteinander von uns Menschen, ua. "Can you hear me now" - "Silent Scream". Diese neuen Werke werden ab Juli 2024 der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Sie entstehen in einer Phase der Genesung. Kunst ist für die Bildhauerin ein Weg zur Gesundung. Kirschnick arbeitet in Ton, Bronze und Polymergips. Sie modelliert, formt ab und gießt alle Kunstwerke eigenhändig.
